RESUME

about me

Height: 6'1"   |   Eye Color: Blue   |   Hair Color: Brown

I bring all my curiosity, cultural experience, and versatility to each project that I do. Every story and everyone's story is unique...and I still love exploring the possibilities of how to tell them...

I love games, puzzles, and good stories - always have. Something about figuring "it" out, finding a solution, exploring the possibilities appeals to me. Not surprising then that as a kid, I was an original Trekkie (and later, a Next Generation fan) and model rocket builder. (Unfortunately the rockets were put on pause once we burned down the field in front of our house...my brother can fill you in on that...) An avid reader, Agatha Christie and Piers Anthony were top of the list growing up. Moving into high school, I became part of the first generation of D&D players, spending every Friday Game Night usually playing RuneQuest or Traveller.

I continued exploring the possibilities as I later joined an international touring theatre company. Twenty-one years of performing and traveling took me to 28 states and 3 continents. (My British wife and acting companion has hit 38 states - I still can't figure that one out.) With seventeen of those years spent in France and French-speaking Belgium and Switzerland, I had the joy of not only performing in English and French but also running drama and communication workshops, interactive role-plays and improvisations, and conducting in-depth discussions around current topics with children from age five to 95. (And yes, those older kids do indeed play!).

Coming back to my old stomping grounds in California, I took up teaching math (what else?) for middle and high schoolers. Knowing that not everyone has a mathematical brain, I sought to make it accessible to everyone through heavy use of projects and practical use. All the while, I continued performing in the area while also jumping into the amazing world of improvisation, becoming part of the house troupe of the group where I trained.
